We all know cops enjoy donuts and coffee, but the police officers in New York are obviously a fan of White Castle, as well.
Danny Maisonet and Kenneth Glover are suing the NYPD over a silly arrest back in late 2012. The incident happened around Halloween 2012 in Coney Island.
The men say they were exiting a cab with a bag full of White Castle sliders when they saw cops rounding up a group of looters. When the cops saw that the bag was full of delicious and tiny burgers, they demanded that the two men hand them over.
Obviously, the two dudes refused to hand the bag of burgers over. Who would willingly hand over a five-pound bag of deliciousness?
After refusing to hand over their burgers, they claim they were whacked with the cop’s flashlights and then handcuffed. The officer who arrested them swore in his complaint that the two burger eaters stood in his way, which forced him to walk around them to reach the alleged looters.
Glover and Maisonet were originally charged with obstructing government administration and disorderly conduct. However, the charges against the two men were later dismissed.
The “most influential burger of all time” is certainly living up to its name. Even cops can’t control themselves around it.
