You know how you always roll your eyes when you see the little “don’t try this at home” message flash across the screen? You probably think, “We know this! Who would be stupid enough to try this sh-t at home?”
20-year-old Brandon Hoffman. That’s who. He has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault after accidentally killing his girlfriend’s 18-month old son. According to police, Hoffman was performing wrestling finishers on the boy.
One of those moves being the Undertaker’s “Last Ride” finisher…
As you can clearly see, this move doesn’t look safe, even when the professionals do it. But Hoffman obviously didn’t care about the dangers. He picked up the child and inadvertently slammed him a little too hard, which caused serious head injuries.
Hospital workers believe the boy also had a broken neck and collapsed lung. To make matters worse, Hoffman admitted he was afraid to call 911 because he knew he would get in trouble, so he decided to drive the boy to the hospital.
Hoffman is currently sitting in jail. His bail has been set at $150,000.
The WWE issued a statement last week…
“There is no excuse for a 20-year-old grown man to behave in this manner with an 18-month-old child. The death of Bryson Shoemaker is a tragedy, and WWE offers its condolences to the child’s mother, Sierra Shoemaker.”
