Well, humans continue to suck. A hunter in Norway is being questioned after shooting and killing two moose that were actually inside a zoo. The deadly incident happened at the Polar Park Arctic Wildlife Center in Northern Norway.
The hunter was hunting moose with a group of people who had specially trained dogs to track down the wild animals for the lazy humans. One of the dogs apparently went under the fence into the park after catching the scent of a moose inside. The hunter instinctively reacted, shooting the moose without making the connection that it was over the fence.
And to make this situation even worse, the bullet passed through the first moose, and then lodged in the stomach of the moose standing behind it. Both animals ended up dying.
Heinz Strathmann, CEO of Polar Park, was shocked by the news…
“We can’t explain what happened, but probably the hunter must have been so eager that he didn’t think. I was surprised. I had my mouth open for a while. This has never happened before — and I don’t think it will happen ever again. It is a one of a kind.”
Police refuse to release the name of the hunter, but they did confirm he is a local man and he is being questioned. If he’s charged with anything, he’ll most likely get off with just a fine. Prison time is rare in cases like this.
Strathmann announced he will hold meetings with his staff to see if they can make the park’s boundaries clearer to hunters.
