Some people say a little bit of jealousy is healthy in a relationship, but 28-year-old Nicholas George Lehmeier has taken things too far.
This disturbing incident happened back in July, according to CBS Minnesota. Lehmeier was apparently upset at his wife because she was spending too much time with their 4-month-old baby.
And that’s totally understandable. I mean, how much attention does a baby really need? Pfft.
His anger reached an extreme level that day in July because his wife was nursing the baby. According to his wife, he grabbed a shotgun and pulled the trigger “about three to four feet from her,” but thankfully it didn’t go off.
After the failed shooting, he reportedly went to grab a handgun with one round. “One bullet is all I need to end this,” he screamed at his wife. She believed her life was about to end, but Lehmeier cooled down just enough to go downstairs and fire the gun out the window.
Why did the wife wait so long to report this incident? Because she was terrified. Lehmeier had threatened to kill her and their children if she told anyone. The abuse had apparently been going on for 10 years.
Police have charged Lehmeier with second degree assault with a dangerous weapon. He faces up to seven years in prison.
