Are you looking for someone to hate this Friday? Say hello to 40-year-old Christi Howell and her 45-year-old boyfriend, Casey Shackleford. They were arrested earlier this month after Howell’s 14-year-old son sat down for an interview with the Kaufman County’s Children Advocacy Center.
Sgt. Jimmy Weisbruch listened to the interview and was shocked to hear the abuse this poor boy had to endure. It all started when the boy, who has an unspecified mental disability, told Shackleford that he had “put his finger inside the family dog’s butt.”
Shackleford grabbed the boy by his hair and pinned him against a couch and covered his face with a towel. He then told Howell to pour cold water on his face. After that, he instructed Howell to tie a “pig rope” around the boy’s private parts.
According to the arrest report, Howell agreed and “pulled on the rope as if she was trying to pull him around and off the couch.” She then tied the rope around his neck and watched as her boyfriend pushed him back onto the couch, which caused the rope to tighten around the boy’s neck.
One of the most heartbreaking things about this story is that the boy admitted during the interview that he only told Shackleford about the incident with the dog because “he wanted to be honest and admit what he had done.”
Howell has been charged with causing injury to a child. Her bond was set at $250,000.
