27-year-old Brooke Amber Sutton thought she would get away with the perfect crime. She was in desperate need of new (and expensive) clothes, so she decided to do a little bit of harmless shoplifting at a local outlet.
Her fun evening of retail theft was first discovered by an Ann Taylor outlet employee who noticed several removed security tags, a cell phone and a puddle of fresh urine in a dressing room.
And while this employee was trying to figure out what the hell happened, Sutton was already targeting the outlet’s Saks Off 5th store. She dragged 15-20 pairs of jeans inside a dressing room, picked her favorite ones and concealed them under a large men’s jacket as she walked out of the store.
Little did she know that officers at the Ann Taylor store used her cell phone to call her husband. He gave them a description of her vehicle and they were able to track her down inside the parking lot.
In total, she had $2,100 worth of stolen items, including over $1,000 worth of jeans. She was arrested on two counts of felony retail theft. She was released from jail the following day.
And you can bet she’s blaming her husband for this, “WHY DIDN’T YOU COVER FOR ME? I HATE YOU! WHY DO YOU WANT TO RUIN MY LIFE? YOU KNOW HOW GREAT MY A** LOOKS IN THOSE JEANS!”
