We have probably all made the common mistake of tapping the gas pedal instead of hitting the brakes. Thankfully, most of us only make that mistake when it doesn’t matter all that much.
But one woman in Canada made the mistake while at the edge of a second-level parking lot at the Londonderry Mall. Emergency crews rushed to the scene when people noticed the car flying off the second level and landing on its roof.
There were two women inside the vehicle at the time. They were pulled out of the car and rushed to the hospital to get checked out. According to the report, they suffered only minor injuries.
The fence that was blocking off the second level lot was forced open as the woman accidentally hit the gas pedal. It caused quite the scene at the mall. Two fire trucks and an ambulance responded to the call.
It took emergency crews nearly an hour to clean up the area and remove the vehicle. It’s clear this accident could have been a lot worse.
Not only for the ladies inside the vehicle, but what if someone had been walking below the second level at the time?
