53-year-old Lynly Broge has had a nasty and abusive relationship with alcohol for several years, and last week she tried to fight back by stopping the alcohol from ever reaching the stores.
Broge was driving on Route 68 at around 7:00 pm Thursday evening when her vehicle crossed the center line and smashed into a block wall in the parking lot of O’Donnell’s Beer Distributor. The vehicle went straight into the building, and if she had crashed just minutes earlier, she might have killed the owner of the place.
He had just stepped away from the office behind the wall that was demolished by Broge’s vehicle. According to police, Broge had consumed eight beers and muscle-relaxers before the accident on Thursday.
And since she has been charged with at least five DUIs in the past ten years, she was supposed to be wearing an alcohol-monitoring bracelet. Officers claim she was not wearing it during this latest incident.
Once again, she faces charges of driving under the influence and careless driving. Last we heard, she was being held on $100,000 bail.
It’s time to take away her keys. She can use public transportation, a bicycle….roller blades.
