Will Pokemon Go ruin your family? Of course it will. It’s ruining everything. There will be people who say things like, “Oh…it’s getting kids out of the house! They’re socializing!” But is that really something to brag about? The only thing your lazy ass kid will put on pants for is to catch Pokemon?
And the problem isn’t with the kids playing the game. Let your children have all the fun they want and pray to God every night they grow out of it.
The problem is that adults are trying to join the fun. Adults who cheat the system by driving around in their vehicles looking for Pokemon. This is extremely dangerous (just like texting) because they are constantly looking down at their phones while driving. We have seen Pokemon players hit parked vehicles before on the side of the road. Heck, one dude even hit a police car.
But that incident seems minor when you compare it to an incident that happened in Japan earlier this week. A 39-year-old farmer was driving his small truck when he failed to notice two women crossing the road.
He failed to notice them because he was playing Pokemon Go. One of the ladies, who was in her early 70s, died of a spinal injury. The other woman is expected to survive, but she was rushed to the hospital with a “severe injury.”
It’s the first case of a death in Japan resulting from someone playing the game; however, it probably won’t be the last. I’m just waiting until some distracted driver (playing Pokemon Go) hits a pedestrian who wandered out in the middle of the street while also playing the game.
