Did you watch the first presidential debate of the season on Monday? You probably did. Millions of people watched it across the country, and 90% of those people probably experienced some real rage.
But hopefully you didn’t call your local police department to complain, because they can’t do anything about your justifiable hate for Donald Trump. Before the debate on Monday afternoon, the Lawrence police department posted the tweet you see below, reminding people not to dial 911 just because they’re mad at one of the candidates.
As you can see, the tweet went viral. It was retweeted over 20,000 times, so hopefully people got the message. Although, we have to imagine there were at least a few phone calls last night that went something like…
911 operator: 911…what’s your emergency?
Resident: Uh, yeah, Donald Trump is a d**k.
911 operator: Did he hurt you?
Resident: He’s hurting the country. Do something about it!
The police department also warned people to be responsible while participating in the various debate drinking games going around.
“Additionally, drinking games where you drink every time someone says ‘yuge’ leads to binge drinking, and we discourage that strongly.”
