27-year-old Amylynn Boehm has two children, but that doesn’t mean she’s figured out how to be a great mother. She gave her 7-year-old daughter permission to go outside and start the car.
And since this girl is only 7, she didn’t just start the car and get right back out. She put the car in reverse and accidentally ran over her 2-year-old sister, who was allowed to go outside with her.
Boehm was still inside the house. She didn’t go outside until she heard her daughter screaming. The toddler was rushed to a local hospital before being flown to Boston Children’s Hospital. She had severe injuries to her legs, scalp and chin.
After Boehm turned herself in, police charged her with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of allowing an improper person to operate a motor vehicle. And there is a chance more charges could follow.
According to investigators, this was not the first time she let her daughter start the car, so Boehm was playing with fire and finally got burned.
Hopefully the 2-year-old makes a full recovery!
