29-year-old Cana Greer was visiting a friend of hers who worked as a security guard back in the day. She found her friend’s old pair of handcuffs and started playing around with them.
She ended up locking herself in the handcuffs and she didn’t have the key to unlock them, so she decided to call the police because she needed a little assistance. When the officer arrived at the home, he performed a records check and discovered she had a felony warrant for burglary.
That’s when he thanked her for literally arresting herself. He took her to the fire station to have the old handcuffs removed and then slapped a fresh pair on her and transported her to jail.
No word on how long she might be in jail, but that’s a super depressing way to go. How did she not remember she had a warrant for burglary? It’s not like some outstanding traffic ticket. You don’t forget you robbed someone.
Maybe she thought the police wouldn’t check her records I don’t know. Seems risky.
