19-year-old Hector Fraire might be in jail right now, but at least he went out with a bang. The teen from Oklahoma was first spotted speeding on the Kilpatrick Turnpike. The radar gun clocked him at 84 mph.
When officers attempted to pull him over, he increased his speed and tried to lose them. His “heavily modified” 2011 Ford Mustang was caught on radar reaching speeds of 176 mph and 208 mph.
In addition to the dangerous speeds, Hector turned off his lights to make it more difficult for the officers to locate him. It worked, the officer radioed ahead to other units in the area that he had lost him.
Thankfully, an officer in the next county spotted the Mustang and was able to cut it off before anyone got hurt. Hector was trapped in a parking lot. He reportedly dropped his keys out of the window, and then let officers arrest him.
He was charged with reckless driving and felony eluding. No word on how long he might be in jail or what his punishment might be, but he probably won’t be behind the wheel of his precious Mustang for a long time.
