When will burglars learn that the things they see in Mission Impossible are, well, impossible? 44-year-old Richard Graham from Rochester tried to rob a little place called Pontillo’s pizzeria.
And instead of breaking a window or smashing a lock, he decided to enter through the vents. Not surprisingly, he got stuck as the ductwork got narrower the closer he got to the kitchen.
Police officers made a special trip to the pizza place when they received several calls from people hearing a man screaming for help.
Penfield assistant fire chief Earl Lubanski told the media it’s the first time he’s ever seen anything like this in his area…
“He was as far down as he could go without coming out on top of an oven. I have been in Penfield 17 years. This is the first time I have seen it in this town. I have only seen it on TV.”
Graham was charged with third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, and second-degree criminal mischief. He also caused about $2,000 in damages to the store.
Before they took him to jail, they stopped by the hospital to treat him for some injuries. The most severe injury probably being embarrassment. I heard he almost died from it.
