Firefighters had to put out one delicious fire Saturday night on a freeway in Southern California.
A big rig truck that was hauling around 76,000 pounds of ribs caught on fire Saturday night. The truck was traveling from Arizona to Los Angeles when the rear tires of the trailer ignited.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, the truck had been disconnected from the trailer. By the time they arrived, there was no hope for the trailer. It was already engulfed in flames.
But a spokesman for the fire department did have some good news to report. He had to write a report on the fire and in the report, he stated that it was your typical truck fire but it had a “wonderful BBQ beef odor to it.”
It took nearly 6,500 gallons of water to put out the fire. Thankfully, no one was injured during the fire, but there were a few people showing up with napkins and plates.
Can you imagine what the cars way back in the traffic jam were thinking? All they could see was smoke and smell BBQ being burned. They probably thought some idiot was having a BBQ right in the middle of the freeway.
Nancy: What’s going on out there, Bill?
Bill: Hell, I don’t know. It smells like someone is having a BBQ.
Nancy: A BBQ? On the freeway? Don’t be silly.
Bill: Can you not smell that? It smells like ribs.
Nancy: Well, I just don’t understand why someone would be having a BBQ on the freeway.
A few seconds later…
Nancy: Do you think we’ll get any?
Bill: Get any what?
Nancy: BBQ, Bill! BBQ!
Bill: I don’t even know if there is a BBQ!
Nancy: I’m just asking, you know how I get if I don’t take my heartburn pill before I eat.
