I’m still not exactly sure what ‘karma’ is, but I feel comfortable saying this is a perfect example of instant karma. 19-year-old Cody Caldwell made a terrible decision Friday night. He attempted to rob a house by sliding down its chimney.
Unfortunately, he ended up getting stuck inside the chimney. The homeowner didn’t return home until Saturday afternoon, so Caldwell had been trapped inside the chimney for almost 24 hours.
As soon as the owner of the house entered, he decided to get a nice little fire going to heat up the place. That’s when he heard screams coming from inside the chimney. He worked fast to put the fire out, which caused the house to fill up with smoke.
By the time firefighters were able to dismantle the chimney, Caldwell was already dead. Officials say it was a combination of severe burns and smoke inhalation. They weren’t able to say if Caldwell had a prior criminal record, or if this was his first time attempting something so dangerous and stupid.
Trying to transform into Santa isn’t easy. Has no one watched Tim Allen’s experience? It took him like 2 terrible sequels to figure everything out.
