It looks like bears are starting to take advantage of the continued deterioration of the human condition. While we catch Pokemon and shoot each other with guns, bears are preparing to take over the world.
And their first step? Gaining access to our vehicles. A 17-year-old girl in Colorado got the shock of her life when she returned to her Subaru and found a bear inside ripping up the ceiling and seats.
She called 911, and she didn’t have to wait long for deputies Josh Tillman and Brian McLaughlin to arrive at the scene. McLaughlin pulled out his cellphone to record the video you see below, which shows the bear placing his paw against the window.
Tillman reports that the bear was “jumping from the back to the front running around as much as he could destroying about everything trying to get out.”
Neither one of them could figure out how the bear entered the vehicle because there were no windows broken. The teenager admits she didn’t lock her doors, so she believes the bear just opened the door and jumped right in.
“They’re smart animals so I wouldn’t doubt if he just opened the door and then let himself in,” she told reporters.
After thinking about all their options, the deputies decided to pop the handle on the latch. The bear crawled out and returned to the woods.
The damage inside the vehicle was so severe that it had to be towed away, and the teen is worried her insurance might not cover the damage because some agencies claim incidents involving wilds animals are an “Act of God.”
This is how it starts, folks. I know you think, “Well, yeah…but they’ll never figure out how to drive.” THEY DON’T NEED TO KNOW! SMART CARS ARE THE FUTURE! 20 YEARS FROM NOW NO ONE WILL BE DRIVING.
Lock your freaking doors.
