We all know that if you see a child stuck inside a hot vehicle, it’s best to call 911 so they can come out and handle the situation. And that’s exactly what one concerned citizen did in Virginia the other day.
The person walked by a car in the parking lot of a shopping center and saw what appeared to be a child locked inside. The police were called out to the scene, and they were able to reach the owner of the car (Jasmine Turner) on the phone to let her know they were about to smash her windows.
She told them that she didn’t have a kid, so she wasn’t sure how one got inside. She also told them she could be there in five minutes if they would just wait.
They didn’t wait. The officers smashed her windows and what they found was a wig next to some blankets. And instead of waiting around to explain what happened, the officers left before Turner made it back to her vehicle.
She is now stuck with several hundred dollars in repairs, and she doesn’t feel like she should be forced to pay for them.
“I just want my window fixed and them to pay for it, either being in a rental or whatever the case is. I can’t take off work. I have bills to pay.”
Turner claims officers told her they couldn’t pay for the damages; however Suffolk Police told a local news station that they told her to make a claim with the city’s risk management division.
So yeah, her windows will be fixed in like six months.
